Inhibition of Surface Corrosion Behavior of Zinc-Iron Alloy by Silicate Passivation

چکیده
The passivation of zinc alloy coating was achieved through the utilization both silicate and trivalent chromium systems, employing a specific process formula consisting Co(NO3)2 at concentration 2.5 g/L, C76H52O46 3 mL/L, Na2SiO3 25 C6H5Na3O7 15 an appropriate amount organic accelerator. composite tannic acid found to be more effective than film, as it successfully eliminated dendrite structure on surface reduced defects. coordination between negatively charged SiO2− or SiO2 micelles Zn2+ results in formation film that exhibits lower corrosion current higher potential compared film. Additionally, impedance test fitting indicate possesses resistance value. Overall, proposed system presents viable alternative toxic chromate system, offering non-toxicity superior protective performance relative system.

Effect of surface passivation on corrosion of a cobalt-chromium dental alloy: surface morphology and chemical composition studies
Abstract Background and Aim: Biocompatibility in some respects depends on the corrosion behavior of dental alloys. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of surface passivation of a cobalt chromium alloy on corrosion behavior. Materials and methods: In this experimental study, 20 samples of Flexicast dental alloy were prepared according to ADA97 standard and after casting, t...
متن کاملMitigation of Corrosion on Magnesium Alloy by Predesigned Surface Corrosion
Rapid corrosion of magnesium alloys is undesirable in structural and biomedical applications and a general way to control corrosion is to form a surface barrier layer isolating the bulk materials from the external environment. Herein, based on the insights gained from the anticorrosion behavior of corrosion products, a special way to mitigate aqueous corrosion is described. The concept is based...
متن کاملOrigin and consequences of silicate glass passivation by surface layers
Silicate glasses are durable materials, but are they sufficiently durable to confine highly radioactive wastes for hundreds of thousands years? Addressing this question requires a thorough understanding of the mechanisms underpinning aqueous corrosion of these materials. Here we show that in silica-saturated solution, a model glass of nuclear interest corrodes but at a rate that dramatically dr...
متن کاملZinc Alloy Electrodeposition for Corrosion Protection
t is known that the protective value of zinc is partially a result of its ability to form a protective film when plated on a base metal, such as steel. The zinc is sacrificial and corrodes I preferentially to protectthe steel. Although pure zinc coating provides some degree of protection for the substrate, in a severe corrosion environment, zinc is consumed rapidly. For this reason, it is usual...
متن کاملZinc-Alloy-Plating for Corrosion Protection
Zinc represents the most effective and economic corrosion protection especially for steel base materials. Improved corrosion resistance can be achieved by alloying zinc with small amounts (around 1 Yo) of transition metal elements like Co, Ni and Fe. Zn-Fe and Zn-Co alloys containing up to 1.5 Yo of the transition metal were plated using an alkaline and acidic electrolyte respectively. Zn-Ni al...
